Gilles Aubry is a Swiss sound artist & computer musician living in Berlin. In his sound work he uses field recordings, improvisation and generative techniques to create environmental compositions at the border of space representation and musical abstraction.

Recent artistic projects & collaborations include FLOW (2002-03) with Ulrike Gabriel, ORTMUSIK (2003), LA MATIERE ET L'ECHO (2004), SIX COWS (2005) with Soichiro Mitsuya, CAMP VICTORY (2005) with Stéphane Montavon, SUD EUROPA (2006) with Raphaël Cuomo and Maria Iorio, URBANUS VULGARIS (2006), CAIRO TALKING HEADS (2007) and BERLIN BACKYARDS (2007).

As a computer musician, Gilles Aubry has been touring and recording extensively throughout Europe, USA, Russia and Asia since 1995. Over the years, he has developed a unique style of real-time improvisation with computer. He is a member of noise band MONNO, improvised music duo THE SAME GIRL with drummer Nicolas Field and has been involved in numerous collaborations with musicians such as Vladislaw & Evgeni Makarov (RU), Mickael Renkel (D), Lars Scherzberg (D), Axel Doerner (D), Torsten Pappenheim (D), Dave Phillips (UK), Bertrand Denzler (CH), Antoine Chessex (CH), Dirk Bruinsma (NL), Alexei Borisov (RU), Lethe (JP), Keiji Haino (JP) & Fe-Mail (NO). His work has been released on Creative Sources, Cronica Electronica, Schraum, Conspiracy, Sound Implant and broadcasted on Radio Suisse Romande, Frameworks (resonance.fm, London), Sound of Space (Radio Zero, Lisbon), Giant Ear (NYC) and Radio Inkorrekt (Berlin).
